Bravo, bravo! The Aje showcase this Monday evening was absolutely delightful and I am still left in amazement as to how two designers (Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris) can be so bloody talented time and time again!

Aje needs no introduction on my blog. We all know that the label is one of the leaders in the Australian fashion industry, and that we can be guaranteed that basically anything they create will be lust worthy. I mean their show was a full house, with some of Australia’s most fashion forward crowd in attendance to show their support.

When it came to sending their SS15/16 Vihara collection down the runway, we saw that doing what they do best the designers remained with their signature embellished looks, however put a spin on it to create new elaborate and intricate short and long pieces. They departed from their usual bohemian luxe style, and took a more minimalistic approach whilst remaining in line with their cult aesthetic, and opting to still incorporate their stunning volumous full length skirts and loose fitting items. What is also luckily here to stay is the to die for fabric used in the creation of the beautiful Aje pieces. These fabrics are a true game changer and what set aside the Aje pieces from other designers.

Now down to the nitty gritty and the noteworthy things! Soft linen and silk pieces left me yearning for a retreat getaway, and wide arm maxi dresses made it just that little bit more desirable. The colour palette remained neutral with navy, sand, blacks and whites being the turn to shades, and although hard to get right, the designers hit the nail on the head and sent out a t-shirt and maxi skirt duo of a print spelling out the words “AJE” amongst other letters. I can totally imagine rocking this duo with a pair of converses, or alternatively some killer gladiators. Yes please.

Finally, we saw the return of the flared jean which we have all been anticipating to be around at Fashion Week. I am glad that Aje was the one to give it a go because they were spot on!
