Known for her furrs and luxurious fashion forward fabrics, the new SS 15/16 Jennifer Kate collection was showcased at this years Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for the first time following the designers return from the US, and boy was it a treat.

I love to support local designers, and being one of our own I was eager to see what was in store for us with such a great hype about the name. It was clear from the super long line of guests outside the off-site location that the rest of the guests too were buzzing with excitement as to the designers new collection. The talented Jennifer McClory of Jennifer Kate is already internationally renowned counting even the Kardashians’ as her fans, and has her pieces stocked in over 100 stores throughout Australia, the UAE, the UK, and the United States of America. An amazing achievement seeing as she only launched her label in 2011.

Not only are her pieces always divine, but she sure can put on one heck of a runway show! The runway differed from a normal catwalk and was located upstairs in a building of wooden floorboards with light beaming in from all angles giving a warm and luxurious aura to the scene. The floor was covered in white confetti paper resembling feathers, and hanging from the roof were several large white balls giving a real heavenly feel. From before the show even started, guests could be seen from all angles taking photos of the intricate space, and after the show finished even more photos were being taken by the guests amongst the confetti, with their inner child coming out to play.

Once the amazing music by Stereogamous (Johnny Seymour and Paul Mac) kicked off, guests were in an uplifting mood and enjoyed the show as beautiful piece after beautiful piece piece was presented. Garments created from the finest buttery leathers and cleanest smooth suedes set the bar high, and looks were in the form of matching twist top sets, clean shirts, sheer panelled tops, and flared skirts. High necks and box shaped shorts and tops also were predominant in this sports luxe collection which was accompanied by white canvas shoes. Hues of both pastels and neutrals made the collection all that more perfect for the coming season, and extremely versatile. A few pieces have definitely stolen my heart.

The Jennifer Kate SS15/16 collection broadcasts some perfect pieces suitable to be dressed up or down, and given they are already in such high demand in the US, Australian women are sure to get around this brilliant designer making it one of their newest go-to labels.
