Well and truly into a week full of Melbourne Cup commitments, I was in dire need of rejuvenation and re-energising to finish the week off, so what better way to relax and doze off into a far away place than pampering from the ‘Mid Week French Indulgence Package’ at the Crown? Not much if you ask me.
Being my property in Melbourne, I knew I was bound to receive one of the best treatments of my life, and boy was I right. Starting the day off by heading into Isika Day Spa on level 27 of the Crown Metropol, I was greeted on the left to a sight of the breathtaking infinity pool which overlooked the concrete jungle of Melbourne, and on the other side by the relaxed and peaceful Isika Day Spa. If you know the Crown which I am sure most of you do, think about the luxury and opulence of the lobby and quadruple it…and that is what you see at Isika Day Spa.
After being directed to my private treatment room, I began my hour long massage with my feet being massaged in a rock tub of warm water. Exactly what I was in need of following a long day of wearing heels at day 1 of the races (think 6 am until 9 pm…ah!). The relaxing music, the tranquil surroundings, and the dim lit setting all set the mood for what was to be an incredible full body massage. The massage was delightful, leaving me refreshed, re-energised, and ready to take on the week front foot first. The Day Spa enhanced my relaxation by a million, and rejuvenated not only my body, but my mind as well. Following the massage I spent some down time in the spa lounge retreat with fresh fruity infused water and sweeping views of the city. Such a beautiful haven.
Part 1 of the package was dusted, so it was then time to head on to part 2 of the Mid Week Indulgence Package, the two-course meal at one of Melbourne’s faovuirties, Bistrot Guilliame by celebrity chef Guillaume Brahimi. Along with my guest, we selected an entree and a dessert to share, and a main each that tickled our fancy. The entree octopus salad has to be one of the most well-presented, decadent, and mouth watering octopus salads that I have tried to date. With a modern twist to it, the octopus was a sure winner in my books. For mains, I went for the Leg of duck confit with peas, shallot and lardons, whilst my guest opted for the Berkshire pork belly with Du Puy lentils and baby vegetables. Both as delicious as the other, we constantly found ourselves picking off each others plate, unsure as to which we would stick to! Of course for dessert I was unable to go past the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. Being a real Creme brulee girl, if it is on the menu, it is what I will be getting. This dessert was exceptionally perfect however, with the top layer perfectly crackable, and the inside of perfect texture and sweetness. I can see my mouth watering just thinking about it.
What an incredible new package…an hour long full body massage (or facial) and a two course meal. I will definitely be back to treat myself! For more on the package click here. The package is available from Monday to Thursday from November until December.
